UPP EVENTS

The Union Participation Program is a form of union citizenship, a minimal request of members that can produce a significant impact. Our Union’s effectiveness depends on member involvement.  The UPP can turn that participation into work opportunities for our members and union contractors.

Currently scheduled UPP events can be found here:  UPP Event List.  You may attend an event even if you have not received your NERCC notification postcard.  Be sure to have your Union ID when registering for or attending an event.  NOTE:  you do NOT have to attend a Political UPP event; please check back for non-political events that will be scheduled in the future.

Call for Concrete Carpenters in Berlin, NH

 Local 118

We are building a $150 million power plant in Berlin, NH, and have an ongoing need for experienced concrete carpenters. Berlin is on the northern edge of the White Mountains.  Carpenters are staying in motels and/or groups of them are renting apartments.  We can share information about the area motels.

The project is expected to last through the end of the year until/if weather shuts them down, and then pick up again as soon as weather allows in the spring.  They have first and second shift, both of which are working 5-ten hour days and an eight  for a total of 50 hours/week, and expect to do so for the foreseeable future.

There is room for 4 – 6 more people on the day shift and 4 – 6 more on the night shift.  Preference will go to those interested in second shift.  Second shift starts at 5pm.  Everyone must pass a drug test.

The rate is NH Zone 2:  Wages: $20.94  Benefits: $17.86

Interested members can contact Local 118 at 603-624-8228, or lu118@myfairpoint.net.

 Thank you,
