 RULES ON O.S.H.A. 10 REQUIREMENTS

Connecticut State Law requires that everyone on a prevailing rate construction project must have completed a minimum of 10-hours of safety training within the past 5 years. Proof of training  (i.e. O.S.H.A. card) must be provided and the completion date of the training can be no more than 5 years earlier. Those who have completed an O.S.H.A. 30 Hour Safety Training class more than five (5) years ago must take an O.S.H.A. 10 class to satisfy the Connecticut 5-year requirement.

NOTE:  Many contractors, construction managers, owners, etc. are adapting the Connecticut 10 hour Safety Training requirement with the 5-year expiration rule as part of their safety policies even on non-prevailing rate projects.

O.S.H.A. 10 HOUR SAFETY AWARENESS:    Registration Fee – $25

The O.S.H.A. 10 class has become the benchmark for safety awareness in the construction industry. Many contractors and owners require that all workers on their sites have the O.S.H.A. Training Card and Connecticut and other states require that all construction workers be O.S.H.A. 10 certified.

This course offers an overview of O.S.H.A. safety and health standards for the construction industry. Emphasis is placed on practical safety issues and job site safety awareness. Participants receive the O.S.H.A. 10 card upon successful completion of course.

O.S.H.A. 30 – ADVANCED SAFETY AWARENESS:      Registration Fee – $25

This is a more advanced version of the O.S.H.A. Safety Training which is more suitable to foremen, superintendents, stewards and lead personnel. O.S.H.A.-30 will explore more topics and go into more depth on many safety issues. NOTE:  Many construction managers require that all supervisory personnel be O.S.H.A. 30 certified.
